CO₂ Ice at 8 K

Ice Datasets
Description
Sample Type Ice
Components CO₂
Ratio 1
Substrate KBr or CsI
Phase / State Amorphous
Reference Temperature 8 K
Wavenumber (cm⁻¹) 500 - 4000
Wavelength (µm) 2.5 - 20

Amorphous carbon dioxide (CO₂) ice deposited at 8 K onto a potassium bromide (KBr) or cesium iodide (CsI) substrate, and held at 120 K during spectroscopic measurements.

The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 8 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 4000 to 500 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹.

The absorption (A) spectrum of a 0.13-µm-thick sample is provided in this dataset.
