Microporous amorphous water (H₂O) ice deposited at 120 K and 3.8x10⁻⁶ Torr onto an aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃) substrate, and held at 120 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real part (n) of the complex index of refraction was determined at λ = 6328 Å using optical measurements done at a temperature of 120 K and a pressure of 3.8x10⁻⁶ Torr, by He-Ne reflectance at near-normal incidence.
