Amorphous ammonia (NH₃) ice deposited at 30 K onto a silicon (Si) substrate, and held at 30 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 30 K, by normal-incidence infrared transmission spectroscopy from 4000 to 700 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 2 cm⁻¹.
The accuracy of the n and k indices is estimated at ~1%, except when k < 0.01, which has larger errors.
