Substrate CsI
Phase / State Amorphous
Reference Temperature 40 K
Wavenumber (cm⁻¹) 440.01 - 6999.657
Wavelength (µm) 1.429 - 22.727

Amorphous ammonia (NH₃) ice deposited at 40 K onto a cesium iodide (CsI) substrate, and held at 40 K during spectroscopic measurements.

The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 40 K, by normal-incidence transmission spectroscopy from 7000 to 440 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹ in the wavenumber range 7000-4000 cm⁻¹ and 0.5 cm⁻¹ in the wavenumber range 4000-440 cm⁻¹.

The accuracy of the n indices is estimated at ± 2.6%. The accuracy of the k indices is estimated at ± 7% in the mid-infrared region and ± 3% in the near-infrared region.
