Low-density amorphous water (H₂O) ice (Iₐl ice) deposited at a temperature >70 K onto a aluminum oxide (Al₂O₃), potassium bromide (KBr) or cesium iodide (CsI) substrate, and held at a temperature >70 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature >70 K and a pressure of ~1E-8 mbar, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 1.1 to 2.6 µm.
The transmission (T) spectrum is also provided in this dataset.
k spectrum should be considered a lower limit. The relative uncertainty in k is strongest in the transparent regions near 1.35 and 1.8 μm, while the relative uncertainty is very small where the absorptions are strong.
