Water-rich exoplanet gas tholin sample produced from water:nitrogen:carbon dioxide:carbon monoxide (H₂O:N₂:CO₂:CO with a 75:10:10:5 ratio) gas precursors by AC glow discharge at ~294 K temperature and 667 Pa pressure in the PHAZER experimental setup at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA.

Tholin sample deposited on a magnesium fluoride (MgF₂) substrate.

Water-rich exoplanet gas tholin sample then irradiated with UV photons through a 228 nm filter, at 294 K and under N₂ purge, at University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ, USA. Sample thickness of 0.368 µm post-irradiation.

The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined from optical measurements done by transmission and reflection spectroscopy at atmospheric pressure and temperature from 0.5 to 8 µm.

Error bars/uncertainties are provided in the downloadable data.
