Crystalline benzene (C₆H₆) ice deposited at 100 K onto a potassium bromide (KBr) or cesium iodide (CsI) substrate, and held at 100 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 100 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 4150 to 602 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 0.5 cm⁻¹.
