C₂H₄ Ice at 14 K

Ice Datasets
Description
Sample Type Ice
Components C₂H₄
Ratio 1
Substrate KBr
Phase / State Metastable low-temperature crystalline
Reference Temperature 14 K
Wavenumber (cm⁻¹) 700 - 5000
Wavelength (µm) 2 - 14.286

Metastable low-temperature crystalline ethylene (C₂H₄) ice deposited at 20 K onto a potassium bromide (KBr) substrate, then cooled down to 14 K, and held at 14 K during spectroscopic measurements.

The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 14 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 5000 to 700 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹.

The transmission (T) spectrum of a 0.931-µm-thick sample is also provided in this dataset.
