C₂H₂ Ice at 20 K

Ice Datasets
Description
Sample Type Ice
Components C₂H₂
Ratio 1
Substrate KBr
Phase / State Crystalline orthorhombic
Reference Temperature 20 K
Wavenumber (cm⁻¹) 3500 - 7000
Wavelength (µm) 1.429 - 2.857

Crystalline orthorhombic acetylene (C₂H₂) ice deposited at 70 K onto a potassium bromide (KBr) substrate, then cooled down to 20 K, and held at 20 K during spectroscopic measurements.

The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 20 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 7000 to 3500 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 2 cm⁻¹.

The transmission (T) spectrum of a 4.6-µm-thick sample is also provided in this dataset.
