High-temperature crystalline ethane (C₂H₆) ice deposited at 60 K onto a potassium bromide (KBr) substrate, then cooled down to 20 K, and held at 20 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 20 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 4500 to 500 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹.
The transmission (T) spectrum of a 0.46-µm-thick sample is also provided in this dataset.
