Crystalline hydrazine (N₂H₄) ice aerosols formed at 130 K by homogeneous nucleation of hydrazine vapor in a helium buffer gas (0.6% hydrazine in helium), and held at 130 K during spectroscopic measurements.

The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 130 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 4000 to 850 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 2 cm⁻¹.

The accuracy of the k indices is estimated at ± 0.05 index units.
