Crystalline carbon monoxide (CO) ice (low-temperature form α-CO) deposited at 25 K onto a cesium iodide (CsI) substrate, and held at 25 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 25 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 3000 to 1500 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹.
