Crystalline hydrogen cyanide (HCN) ice deposited at 120 K onto a cesium iodide (CsI) substrate, and held at 120 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 120 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 5000 to 600 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹.
