Crystalline dicyanoacetylene (C4N2) ice deposited at 70 K onto a thallium bromoiodide (KRS-5) substrate, then annealed at 90 K and cooled down to 70 K, and held at 70 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 70 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 2260 to 468 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹.
The accuracy of n is estimated at ± 1%.
