Pure HCN (1) Ice at 60 K
Sample Type | Ice |
---|---|
Components | HCN |
Ratio | 1 |
Substrate | KRS-5 or ZnS |
Reference Temperature | 60 K |
Wavenumber (cm⁻¹) | 800 - 3200 |
Wavelength (µm) | 3.125 - 12.5 |
Crystalline hydrogen cyanide (HCN) ice deposited at 60 K onto a thallium bromoiodide (KRS-5) or zinc sulfide (ZnS) substrate, then annealed at 80 K and cooled down to 60 K, and held at 60 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 60 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 3200 to 800 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹.
The accuracy of n is estimated at ± 1%.
