Pure N2O (1) Ice at 183 K

Description
Sample Type Ice
Components N2O
Ratio 1
Substrate None
Reference Temperature 183 K
Wavenumber (cm⁻¹) 16977.929 - 16977.929
Wavelength (µm) 0.589 - 0.589

Monocrystals of nitrous oxide (N2O) ice produced at 183 K (-90 °C), and held at 183 K (-90 °C) during spectroscopic measurements.

The real part (n) of the complex index of refraction was determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 183 K (-90 °C), using a standard sodium lamp source (λ ~ 589 nm) and a low-power microscope by measuring the position of the transmitted sodium line and comparing with a calibration curve.

Error bars/uncertainties are provided in the downloadable data.
