Water (H2O) ice deposited at 77 K onto a gold (Au) substrate, and held at 77 K during spectroscopic measurements.

The real part (n) of the complex index of refraction was determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 77 K and a pressure < 5E-5 mm Hg, by ellipsometry at 5461 Å.
