Amorphous ammonia (NH3) ice deposited at 10 K onto a cesium iodide (CsI) substrate, and held at 10 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 10 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 6000 to 630 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 1 cm⁻¹.
