Water:methanol:carbon monoxide:ammonia (H2O:CH3OH:CO:NH3 with a 100:10:1:1 ratio) ice mixture deposited at 10 K onto cesium iodide (CsI) and polyethylene (PE) substrates, then warmed up to 140 K, and held at 140 K during spectroscopic measurements.
The real (n) and imaginary (k) parts of the complex index of refraction were determined using optical measurements done at a temperature of 140 K, by infrared transmission spectroscopy from 4000 to 50 cm⁻¹ with a resolution of 2 cm⁻¹.
